At the beginning of the year I was still recovering from an elbow reconstruction and an ulnar osteotomy and was doing many hours of therapy a day. Without gym, I was able to do things I wouldn’t normally have time for. I visited UF in February with Jazzy. In April I went to Coachella. In May I went on a trip, for my 19th birthday, to Turks and Caicos. I went with my long time friends Sydney Ewing, Maggie Nichols, and Aly Raisman. Turks was the most beautiful beach I’ve ever been to and it was so fun to spend time with my best friends outside gymnastics. During the summer, I didn’t take many more trips as I was finally cleared to start training again so I focused on getting my skills back. Before I left for school I went to go see Aly in Boston for a few days. I started at Florida in August and at first it was a big adjustment and took some getting used to. I love UF, and have already made so many memories here. During preseason we had three intrasquads to prepare us for season which begins January 5th at West Virginia. The first home meet is January 12th versus LSU. I’m looking forward to competing this year for the first time since 2016.
